Deconversion Therapy Podcast

A humorous podcast about religion. Let’s face it, sometimes you just need to laugh, and these ladies serve it up a-plenty. Karen and Bonny are witty and say the kind of things I wish I were capable of thinking of. Brighten your day and give these gals a listen. Hey - we have to remind ourselves to not take things soooooo seriously sometimes.

Everyone’s Autonomous Podcast

Podcast host Marie D’Elephant explores “How do we regain autonomy over our minds and bodies, AND respect the autonomy of others? How do we rejoin the human race and participate in this chaotic experiment of existence?” She is one of the clearest thinkers and most concise speakers that I’ve heard in podcast land. Truly a sherpa to help us along our own paths to autonomy. And by the way, I’m adopting the word autonomy into my vocabulary. Essentially, that’s what this is all about.

Dr. Heath Schechinger - Therapist

Dr. Schechinger has done tremendous work in the LGBTQIA+ community and specifically research around relationship structures with a focus on Consensual Non-monogamy (CNM). He’s dedicated to making sure therapists are educated and can effectively help people inside non-traditional relationship structures and who come from LGBTQIA+, BDSM and Kink communities. Dr. Schechinger is equipped with insight on religious indoctrination as he too is someone who lived through repressive religious constructs.

It’s a Drama!

I love the clever, funny, and real people in life. Liz is one of them. She’s also the antithesis to a restrictive life. She’s traveled the world with her family and has a lot of information on how you too can do the unconventional and homeschool your kids, couch surf the world with your family, and basically get on with your bad-ass self in the world.

Recovering from Religion

Backsliding your way to freedom is fun, but can also come with guilt, confusion and rejection from those you care about who are religious. It’s hard. That’s why RfR was created, to help us through, offer support and resources. They have a hotline if you need to talk. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. This group is staffed with loving people who can offer real information on how to live your life outside of religion.

Bad Christian.png

The Bad Christian Podcast

Easing your way out of religious dogma isn’t easy, but these guys do it well with humor and brutal honesty. Also, they are all Christians, and this is a Christian podcast. I might not agree with all their personal views, and that’s just fine - but I do admire and respect them. They call out people who do Christianity poorly, and uphold curiosity, individual autonomy, and have very little patience for the bullshit that is passed on as Christianity. They interview intelligent people and approach subjects with open minds. Pro-tip, if you want to get straight to the title subject, skip ahead about 20 minutes, as they usually begin with a fair amount of white dude bro banter which isn’t my gig, but maybe it’s yours. I appreciate their voices of reason.
